Marshall shares his Rooted in Life story

I thought I was going to die. I’d like to tell my organ donor I’m not taking my second chance at life for granted.

Why Donate?

20 people die every day waiting for a lifesaving transplant

After a heart attack, Janice of Delta Sigma Theta, lost her husband, Marvin Lewis Wright, Sr., an Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. member. Marvin became a tissue and cornea donor, healing dozens.

While he was a registered donor, Janice had many reservations about donation, knowing the historically adverse relationship between the Black community and the healthcare industry. However, she honored her husband’s donation decision, and he healed many through his cornea and tissue donations. She is confident in the decision he made and is proud to know he helped so many through his untimely death.
